Work Update

Its been very, very busy at work these last couple of week. I’ve got several active projects going on with out estimating software database. I actually have to keep about 4 seperate projects going at once, mainly due to the delays between sending things out to test and getting results back. But its not that hard to manage.

I’ve also got about 3 active Lotus Notes development projects. 2 are just doing modifications and changes to databases that I’ve already written. 1 is planning for a new big development project. On the Lotus Notes front we recently upgraded this office from 5.x to 6.5.3 and working kinks out here and there takes time. One of the biggest things is to make sure everybodies mail is being replicated and archived properly. I pretty much have to-do these 1 at a time, since our network bandwidth is so limited. About 70 PC plus 50 AS400 terminals on a 256k line.

I’ve also upgraded from BackupExec 8.6 to 9.1 and I’m working out all the changes and things there.

We’ve also started implimenting lots of changes passed down from corporate due to the new SOX stuff, thats causing lots of confussion with user. Mainly in the area of passwords and AS400 logins.

To sum it up, I stay at full speed all day long and man does the day fly by. Better get back to it.
