Well like always its been busy down on the farm. Fall is here and the days are getting shorter so I’m staying busy trying to keep up.
I’ve got some of fall garden stuff going. Right now we have tomatoes, pumpkins, broccoli, cauliflower, and cabbage growing. A few other things are popping up here and there. I still need to get the rest of the greens planted.
The biggest project going on is a chicken pen. We really enjoy the free ranging chickens running all over the place but chickens and garden starting don’t mix. I’m in the process of building a big pen to keep them in during planting times. With any luck I should have it done by the end of the weekend.
I’ve also been busy getting things ready for deer season. The feeds are all fixed and full. The cameras are out and the stands have been checked and ready to go. I did some bush hogging and some chainsaw work in some areas. As far as I can tell we are ready.
The hay was cut a couple of weeks ago so the fields are cleared for the last time this year. I also got a chance to clean up some grown up areas around one of the fences. I’ve still got a lot to do (as always).
