Most of my reading this week has been graphic novels. I’ve had all this books for sometime, and have finally gotten the time to read them.
Dork Covenant (Dork Tower, Vol. 1)
Dork Side of the Goon: The Collected Dork Tower Vol. VII
What can I say, I love the Dork Tower guys. From the first time I ever read one of the comics on the web. This are the only 2 that I have so far, and several issues of the comics through the years. Reading them in this format and the extras in the volumes makes them all worth reading again. I hope to add the rest of them to my list in the future.
The X-Files, Vol. 1
I’ve always been a fan of the X-Files, and it’s been a while since I’ve watched or read anything related. So this was a nice way to remember all the goodness.
Conan Volume 1: The Frost Giant’s Daughter And Other Stories. Up until I stopped getting comics (due to time) I kept up with the new series of the Conan comic. This volume was really good. I have an interest in Conan going way back to when I was a kid. I’ve also recently become fascinated with anything related to Robert E. Howard.
Well I knocked out another Cory Doctorow book this week, Eastern Standard Tribe. Its amazing how much you can read when you stop watching TV. I read this one in only two sittings. Excellent book.
I recently read Down and Out in the Magic Kingdom by Cory Doctorow. Wow what a great book I can’t believe I waited this long to read it.
I finished up The Cobweb last night. I did take me a little bit to get into this book, but once I did it was good. It was written several years ago, but reading it today gives you a whole “oh wow” thought on politics of today.
I guess I forgot to mark God’s Equation : Einstein, Relativity, and the Expanding Universe as done. I finished up this audio book about a week back. Very good with lots of interesting Einstein information that I didn’t know.
I got the new book from l.m. Orchard Hacking RSS and Atom shipped to me from Amazon over the weekend. Its really great so far. I’m up to the chapter on Monitoring your Server with feeds, and I’m really looking forward to digging into that.
I finished this up this morning. Entertaining.
I finally finished up Wolves of the Calla (The Dark Tower, Book 5), the audio version. I got so caught up listening to podcasts that I forgot I had this on there. Overall continues a great series and I’ll start the next book soon.
I finished reading Stealing the Network: How to Own a Continent last night. Very entertaining fictional hacker tale. Of course the information and attack methods would probably work under certain circumstances. If you enjoy this type of reading its one of those books you can’t put down. I would also recommend it to IT Guys, you can probably learn a few things on protecting your systems and networks.
I finished up “Surely You’re Joking, Mr. Feynman!”: Adventures of a Curious Character several weeks ago. What a great book, he really was a curious character, the best non fiction book I’ve read in ages.
